The burnt body of an unidentified man was found yesterday morning near Middlesex Elementary in Baltimore County.
In West Baltimore, a van was hit by another car and was forced onto the sidewalk where it hit two little boys (one of whom died). In true Baltimore style, onlookers then beat the woman who was driving the van. The depth of the anger in this city is truly terrifying sometimes.
Two men tried to rape a 15-year-old girl in Cockeysville.
Olesker talked with people who were paying respects where Bryan Adams was murdered in Columbia, and Antajuan Wilson was arrested for Adams' murder.
The war on drugs is alive and well in Baltimore.
From the Daily Record:
For a fugitive riding public transportation, it didn't pay to be cheap. A North Carolina bank robbery suspect is in custody after he was caught taking a free ride on Baltimore's light rail. A ticket on the train costs $1.60. But the Maryland Transit Administration says 58-year-old Isaac Ray Dunn didn't have one when an MTA police officer asked passengers to show their tickets on Thursday afternoon at the North Linthicum stop south of the city. After arresting Dunn for failing to buy a ticket, police did a check for outstanding warrants and found out he’s wanted for a bank robbery in Charlotte, North Carolina. Police turned Dunn over to U.S. Marshals.

Attacking a driver for accidentally hitting a child with his/her vehicle is not unique to Baltimore. Remember what triggered the Crown Heights riots in NYC?
Whether or not mob justice is unique to Baltimore is irrelevant. The fact is, there are a lot of people here who are angry and who neither respect nor trust the police. Those are key ingredients to situations like the Crown Heights riots.
people in bmore city dont respect the word, they dont respect the law..they respect the gun...thats the bottom line...and that attitude is rapidly gaining power in the county...
the "decreasing" murder rate will be brought back up to par this summer...hope you ready Bealefield
Well said, bmore - I wouldn't put too much stock in the "low" homicide numbers thus far.
The fact is, there are a lot of people here who are angry and who neither respect nor trust the police.
The people in this town neither trust the police nor each other - many of them are just looking for an opportunity to be aggressive towards each other. If only we could send the lot of them to places where their bloodlust could be satisfied, like Iraq.
i recall a article i read today, i think it wa sin the examiner...it was concerning the increasing number of drug busts in the Loch Raven area of the northeastern....i was visitin my buddy last night, he lives off of york road and woodmore....talk about a place that looks like its going DOWNHILL..The Alameda at night is about as adark as a street can get...seems like our great mayor doesnt give a f### about saving ANY of the city
Well, the decreasing murder rate... just went up by one.
The HoCo PoPo arrested Antajuan L. Wilson, 19 for last Wednesday's murder in Columbia. Why am I not surprised that the suspect has a name like "Antajuan." Ah well, I guess he'll realized that he really should have chosen civility in Howard County.
Reading the Olesker piece, I kept hitting the same things with the people who he interviewed. Young, HS but no College, some with toddlers of their own. These are people who don't stand much of a chance in HoCo.
In HoCo there are no good jobs unless you have a college education. Even then most of the people commute to Baltimore or DC. There are a large number of low paying service sector jobs, but when you are compeating with a imigrant who will jump for a job at McDonalds in the evening to supplement their income, after working 8-10 hours as a lanscaper/mover/cleaning. You are already outclassed.
At least the thugs are waiting till they are in their later teens early twenties untill they start killing people.
Looking at the address of the guy he arrested, it's right across the street from the spot where the killing took place.
A juvenile was murdered in the 1900 block of N Patterson Park Ave (near North Ave). The idiots at WJZ are reporting the murder as having occurred in Patterson Park proper.

LOL, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some dickhead real estate agents who'd try to sell people houses up there & claim it's in "North Patterson Park." I always get a kick out of real estate ads for houses in imaginary neighborhoods like "Upper Canton." Do people actually fall for that crap?
If some people are stupid enough to fall for "North Potomac" (Gaithersburg), "North Bethesda" (Rockville), and "Upper Georgetown" (Glover Park), then I'm sure that some people will fall for "Upper Canton".
I don't know how many people fall for that stuff, but it is widespread. When I take people who are relocating to Baltimore to look for rental properties, I've learned that there is "Fells Point", "Upper Fells Point", and "Patterson Park" is very variable. Down in what I used to call South Baltimore is now "Federal Hill" as far south and west and east as your realtor's imagination can take you. Now Locust Point has seemed to gain a cachet of its own, instead of "South Federal Hill".

Mr. M and tao: I sense a huge sense of anger and hate from many of the have-nots against the haves. And this anger results in a quickness to use violence. The Zach Sowers beating is a case in point, though the accident was not an example. Rioting can happen at any time in underclass areas, for any reason or little reason.
\
As Bmore has shown on his posts, we seem to be facing a "quiet riot" now with thugs mostly shooting each other and anyone nearby. Of course, we all hope the murders stay down, but most people I talk to in the Inner City all used to say: watch out for the warm weather.
\Bmore: I am so glad you said that about York and Woodbourne. I consulted there a few months ago, and told the organization that their particular location near there was unsafe. The boss basically didn't believe me, though a number their employees have been robbed over the last several years.
buzon:
my buddy lives off of woodbourne, on Lothian...i just the creepy feeling at night walking to my car, you know the feeling that us Bmore native get..can i ever escape to a "safe" area in bmore city? lol
The confessed killer in columbia made a court appreance... Appearing in the courtroom on a TV screen via a video feed from the county detention center, Wilson said that he had been in Columbia for only about two weeks but had family in the area. He said he was unemployed and had previously been living in Augusta, Ga.
Responding to questions from Judge Pamila J. Brown, Wilson said he had no criminal record beyond minor traffic offenses. The judge then said that her records show Wilson had been convicted in 2006 on a marijuana charge and a battery charge in Georgia and received probation.
I guess he hadn't been here long enough to get his car magnet.
I was so angry at WJZ's misrepresentation of the murder location that I missed this gem:
Baltimore Police are investigating a fatal homicide at Patterson Park."
"If some people are stupid enough to fall for "North Potomac" (Gaithersburg), "North Bethesda" (Rockville), and "Upper Georgetown" (Glover Park), then I'm sure that some people will fall for "Upper Canton"."
Living "North Bethesda" isn't likely to get you mugged/beaten/murdered though.
Heh, "fatal homicide" is right up there with "dead corpse."
Fatal Homicide. That's brilliant.
There's also some confusion about whether the victim was a boy or a girl. BAL says she was a 15-year-old girl, JZ says he was a male. I'm waiting to post anything until there's something reliable.
WJZ corrected the location, but "fatal homicide" is still there.

Jerry Turner and Al Saunders are rolling in their graves.
al saunders was the offensive coordinator for the redskins last year! lol i know its i different al
I know, bmore. I'm a long suffering Skins fan myself. lol
@ Buz,
Why do you say the accident was not an example? It seems to me that, when a driver is beaten by a group of people after an accident, that is the same kind of simmering anger that caused the Crown Heights riots.
When you have a large group of desperate and angry people who feel -- justly or not -- that they are being oppressed, all it takes is one random event for the "riot" to become pretty damned loud.
From the Olesker article mentioned earlier. Olesker asks his interviewee if she has any kids.
“Two kids,” she said. “Eleven months and 2 months. A boy and a girl.”
Did she have sex in the delivery room? She better get a job quick.
mr.meph:
so am i bro....i feel you pain...sean taylor's death is still troubling me
my grammar today is pathetic..but who cares about grammar in bmore
I meant that that car accident was not necessarily a good example of the haves vs. the have-nots. It is, as you say, a good example of potential riot and violence conditions.
Arncliffe rd is an overall quiet neighborhood, except for the thugs ( groups of teenagers ) that terrorize the good hard working people that live hear. What can be done? If you call the police then your home or property gets vandalized. If you approach them you get the same reaction. Where is the parental guidance of these kids. Why are they allowed to terrorize the neighborhood and do as they please with no consequences. The police need hard proof in order to make arrests and I for one am completely frustrated over the way and the length this has gone on. It's almost as if the parents are teaching them to be disrespectful and terrorize in order to have control and keep hard working people in a state of "what now fear" These kids constantly harass my family and me ( many families) on a daily bases whether its sitting on cars, with no respect of scratches or dents or whether its simple acts of opening gates or terrorizing the animals, or just hanging out in front of your house disrupting the peace of the neighborhood. These kids are a menace within the 800 block of arncliffe rd. The only way we can rid the community is to stick together and document everything. Please if you are tired of the actions of the thug life the gang of arncliffe rd has created please write !!!! The first step towards correcting a problem is the hardest.
