  2. Huh, not sure how I missed that. Maybe because I still naively think that murders warrant a unique link off the "Maryland News" page, instead of being buried down in the Metro Digest.

  3. In the Sun's defense, however, I have to give them credit for being the only daily that reliably covers homicides.

It is suprising that the TV stations aren't all over the White Marsh murder. I only see it on two of the four main sites, and neither of those has it as a featured story.

  4. yeah, you ever try to find information on homicides in the washington post? unless there's some sensational "crime wave" going on (like pg county's 11 murders in 11 days or whatever it was a month or two ago), they report maybe 1 of every 5 or 10.

  5. oh, unless it happens in montgomery county or northern virginia. those are like "the county" to dc and pg's "the city."

  6. BTW the body floating in Westport on the 19th has been identified as Duane Lee Allen.

My sister knew him. He didn't come home on Monday, and his Family filled a missing persons report expecting the worst. They also went looking for him and only found his shoes early in the week. I am given to understand (4th hand) that there was some sort of blunt force trauma to the body, but they had not yet determined if it was before or after he hit the water.

  8. A man was shot dead on the 3500 block, Woodland in NW and the Sun reports on the continuing gang violence among young people in this sorry town. Meanwhile, the Council President is talking about the Mayor talking with the Commissioner about talking about... I dunno,... something.
