Did I read the story about Calvin Amos yesterday correctly? It sounds like the man has been convicted of manslaughter after defending himself against a criminal who broke into his home. Absolutely sickening. We can't put away real criminals, but law abiding citizens who try to protect themselves get arrested and tossed in the slammer. Pat Jessamy deserves to get cancer and die.
Sheesh, take a Midol!
A city jury convicted him, so there's probably more to the story ... I'll try to find out.
I'm hating on whatever cop didn't charge the old man. "Ho, ho, that crazy grandpa!"
Hope the security guard sues him, gets awarded inheritance of his kids who didn't have the sense to take his keys away!
I know that Michael Steele's sister was once married to Mike Tyson, but seriously why would he want to be publicly endorsed by a convicted murderer (Don King) and rapist (Tyson)? I don't think these endorsements will play too well down on the Eastern Shore and in Carroll County.

An outspoken businessman is shot in the head and pronounced dead. Following a minutes long investigation, O'Malley's police declare the death a suicide. The community says ain't no way. O'Malley ignores the public outcry of Baltimore citizens.
I'm glad there will be a hearing despite the mayor. What ichy said about Jessamy is way harsh. It should be applied to O'Malley. JUSTICE for MR. ROBERT CLAY!!!
On the subject of Calvin Amos, I know nothing about the particulars, but a big problem in baltimore is that we don't have a self-help statute, but only a self-defense justification.
Self-help was the norm, until the due process revolution. A preoblem with no self-help is that you have to rely on the police, of whom we don't have many.
Caught in Baltimore between a rock and a hard place again.
