May 7

(MJB beat me to a few of these links, including today's Murder Ink, but I've already written this post so redundancy be damned.)

If it took six or seven thugs to beat and kill a 73-year-old man, then how many of our city's toughest gangbangers would it take to drown a kitten or steal candy from a baby?

Hmmm... maybe the cops should sic this guy on the douchebags who like killing senior citizens.

A 17-year-old was chased down an alley off of Presbury St. and shot repeatedly.
UPDATE: The boy died at about 2:15 this morning.

Two 13-year-old students broke into West Baltimore's Calverton Elementary/Middle School on Sunday afternoon and tried to rape a teacher who was putting in some overtime. She fought back and they ran away like the little cowards they are. Both boys got arrested when they showed up for class on Monday.

It's not just city schools that are being disrupted by violent asshats.

Perv du jour: Child rapist Carlos Cortez got 100 years, and alleged grandma rapist Roger Ervin was indicted and faces life.

Kevin G. Johns got caned, albeit not in the traditional way.

Greg Kane is going to be getting mad praise in the comments section now.

They're building new single-family houses in Oliver.

Another Harsonist got caught!

Confidential to Frank Conaway: If you'd done your job in the first place, this wouldn't be an issue, so shut the fuck up and get to work.

  3. I mean, sorry tater.
Greg Kane does rule-- he should have a show on WYPR instead of that fat guy

  4. I take back what I said about Kevin Johns deserving the death penalty. They should let him live, and have him share a cell with one of the guys who beat the old man to death. Or with Carlos Cortex. Or with one of the hundreds of other scumbags who deserve to be strangled like Johns's most recent victim was.

  5. Am I the only one who gets annoyed by how Dan Rodricks pronounces "news" as "nooooz"

  6. My argument for carry concealed weapons is getting stronger everyday (unfortunantly)....wake up people, the cops come when its too late...protect your life, its your best investment, dont let some scumbags bring grief to you and your loved ones.

  7. Ppatin, you may be the only one here that listens to that windbag Rodricks...

Don't blame me, I voted for Greg Kane.

I know many people on this blog have used choice words when describing Dan Rodricks, but I've never heard anyone refer to him as a "fat guy" until now. Has he put on weight since that last photo of him was taken?

  9. Heh, I don't listen to him. I hear the previews for his show during morning edition on my drive in to work.

  10. I don't know his current weight, I must say. I was referring to his jowly double-chinned headshot.
I haven't heard him on the air, is he as annoying in the 4th dimension as he is in the 2nd?

  11. re: dirt bikes

A few years ago I was hit broadside by a dirt bike that ran a stop sign as I was coming home from work. The kid flew over the side of my car and landed on the other side of the street about 20 feet away and somehow managed to immediately get up and ran away. Which was fortunate because my uninsured motorist coverage therefore paid the full $3400 in repairs, and despite the opportunity to reduce the criminal juvenile populate by 1, I avoided having to deal with a dead kid laying next to my car.

  12. From the Crime Log:

2700 block, Greenmount Avenue at 11:36 p.m. April 28. Woman shot in the leg while standing in street talking to her boy friend. Identity of shooter unknown.

A person's survivability is directly related to how worthless he or she is. A productive, law-abiding citizen would've been killed by that accident, but thugs & bums can get stabbed, shot or (as in this case) thrown 20 feet from an accident and keep going.

  14. A court clarifies somme matters about victims' rights, but don't expect a lot of justice real soon.

Another court also granted juvenile status to the prosecution of this light rail murderer.

On the subject of stabbing, a Pigtown stabbing ended in fatality and a woman was shot in the head in East Baltmore.

Stabbings off York Road in Govans in the Blotter and The Examiner reflects on the creation of "a culture in which there are no repercussions".

    Guess what? We're already there.

  15. "Since I see the day soon coming that I'll need to defend myself against youthful lawbreakers out to provoke a confrontation, I appeal to you to encourage the legislature to pass an effective right-to-carry law here in Maryland. And I would urge you to sign it.

And no, I don't mean that pathetic, far-too-restrictive statute currently on the books that you think is a right-to-carry law. I mean one where I can walk into a gun store, have the owners do the necessary background check, wait the specified time period and then get my weapon once it's been determined I'm a law-abiding citizen."

If I were a woman I would bear Gregory Kane's children.

  16. ...a woman was shot in the head in East Baltmore.

Fortunately, the woman was only grazed (per our neighborhood reps who were in contact with the police), and the suspect is in custody. I've heard that he's a juvenile, so I'm hoping that the SA will charge him as an adult. Of course, with Patty "Dock Lock Up Our Babies" Coats Jessamy calling the shots, I'm not holding my breath.

  17. Question: how is it that parents can come and go freely within the school building ?

Why are these schools not locked down at the beginning of homeroom and unlocked at recess ??

How was this parent even able to get into the classroom without permission ?

    These schools just need discipline.

  18. The dirtbike traffic coming into or out of the Gwynns Falls trail ajoining my property has significantly diminished due to my unfortunate habit of accidentally letting my Rottie out when I hear them coming. I guess the kids decided to go annoy someone else.
