On June 25, 2005 Coppage forced his way inside the victim's apartment located in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle and announced a robbery. He proceeded to slash the victim's throat and stab the victim several times in the stomach and chest. Before leaving the apartment, Coppage poured bleach on the victim's body. The victim played dead, waiting for Coppage to leave, and then called police. The victim survived but has permanent scars and has been unable to return to work since the attack.A drive-by shooting in the Northeastern hit a man in the face and a boy in the foot.
