May 2

Mary Galston, 31, was found stabbed in her home in Brooklyn.

A man was shot on Grayson Street in the Southwestern.

Natalyn Tart-Jones, 49, was stabbed by her ex in Columbia.

Davon David Temple, 17, has been arrested and charged for the murders of Jennifer Morelock and Jason Woycio.

Vernon Evans will have his appeal heard.

Sixty-six people are being held locally on immigration charges following raids on Monday.

For the second time in a month, a man was glued to a toilet seat in Salisbury.

Why is the Harford County sex-offender population on the rise?

Anyone recall the discussion on the reporting of crime and stats by the Chief of Patrols, Debbie Owens ? The Cybrarian was told that inquiries should be directed to her.

Guess what? Chief Owens does NOT return the calls. Anyone surprised?

FYI, readers, crime is WAYYYY up in our neighborhoods. Leonard Hamm should be tarred and feathered.

BTW, why did the blog not cover the hearings on deployment and manpower inadequacy last week?
The (readily eclipsed) Sun also failed to mention the results, which are embarrassing to the O'Malley administration, which has professed to reduce crime in this god-awful city.

What a f#@king worthless government.

City Council Quote of the Week

“There is not a single district in the Baltimore Police Department that is up to ‘authorized strength.’” —Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke (D-14th District), citing information she recently learned that supports previously introduced resolution 06-0166R, which encourages Police Commissioner Leonard Hamm to transfer more police officers from specialized units to uniformed patrol. In fact, Councilwoman Clarke said that the Northern District, which she called the most poorly staffed of the nine, is currently 30 officers short of its “authorized strength” of 165 officers.
