Okay, I know this is off-topic, but crime apologists generally open this door, so

Batimore Unemployment Rate Rises To 3.8%

Excuse me??? But,... remember, the unemployment rate doesn't refer to the percentage of the population unemployed, it refers to the percentage of the population which is actively seeking to be employed and which is unemployed.

Most Baltimore people have no intention of getting a J-O-B. Hence, 3.8%.

The crappy thing here is, unless you want to 1) work in health services, 2) work in marketing, or 3) join the military, you pretty much can't find a job in baltimore. Its a wonder that more people aren't in the drug game here....

(sorry, a little annoyed since the jobhunting process here is so awful)

But you opened the door... I don't think unemployment and crime are connected at all. There are plenty of foreign cities with 20+% unemployment and almost no crime (and health care. And better food.) There's no correlation between crime and unemployment. And you have to say you're looking for work if you want to collect any kind of government anything, so that figure doesn't really reflect much, except more job losses than usual lately.

By George, *I think you've got it.

The crime level correlates with... the quality of local food.

It's all that crappy lake trout and ... chicken boxes.

Don't outlaw the styro; outlaw the contents.
