December 2

A man was shot near Monroe Street and Penrose Avenue; a 13-year-old girl cut off a teenage boy's thumb; a woman was abducted from a gas station in he 1400 block of Washington Blvd. and raped.

A Federal Judge refused to dismiss the NAACP/ACLU lawsuit against the police department.

Judge Heard yesterday denied a motion to have rape charges dropped against two members of the "flex squad."

Godfrey Bonsu and wife, Victoria Boateng were sentenced yesterday to 14 years in prison, and 11 years three months in prison, respectively, with each sentence followed by five years of supervised release, for running a drug-courier business from the Takoma Park Quality Inn.

Rabbi David Kaye, featured on "Dateline NBC," got 6 1/2 years in prison for trying to solicit sex from (someone he thought was) a 13-year-old boy (but was really a 26-year-old worker from Perverted Justice).

Lots of stolen cars, bikes and $s in the Northern.

Yay! Underdog will be at the parade tomorrow!

What's the difference between Baltimore and Hell?

ans.: At least in Hell you get a snowball's chance.

What's the difference between being Baltimore City Police Commissioner and being on vacation in Cancun?

ans.: I couldn't think of one either. Fire Lenny Hamm.

This morning's Rodricks column clarifies that the writer endorses criminal maintenance, rather than criminal justice, for nuisance crime offenders.

The misguided Mr. Rodricks continues to insist that low-level offenders are not bad people, they're just underprivileged.

Hmm. People in Baltimore not forcing accountability on offenders. I don't know, Galt - could such a thing happen here?

Burger, you should drive down Greenmount ave... it's hannukah on every corner!
Isn't it annoying that those lights flicker? why do they have to do that? It's annoying and looks seedy.

It's to remind people ( ok, to remind Baltimoreans...) that they are being watched. They tend to forget.

But I like the Chanukah explanation better. And the things the guys are handing off in the alley are dreidels, nu?

I guess dreidels are the Polish-ghetto version of craps, right?
