BCrime, TBC Style - Get in on It

Rather than subject our loyal visitors to a non-centralized location to get their crime fix, I've opted to help out for the time being.

Baltimore's "Little Dear" population doesn't rest, and neither will we. See you on the comment boards...

Ya'll want this party started, right?

Okay:

"In a move that could force prosecutors to drop hundreds of cases, Baltimore State's Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy has asked city police to give her files on officers who are being investigated for lying or other offenses that could damage their credibility on the witness stand."

Even though neck guards might be more helpful, "City to hire social worker to help prostitutes"

"Two arrested in city homicides" and their cases aren't thrown out yet! All things in good time...

"So far this year, city police have shot and killed 12 people. In all of last year, city police shot and killed 13 people." So Cap'n Stabby got lucky.

Understatement of the year... sorry, make that day (come on, this is Baltimore) - "Towson teen charged with fatally beating mom ‘needs help" Also, didja know that strikethrough HTML tags aren't allowed in comments? How am I to express my snark properly???

At last, the city addresses the real dangers: City employees texting while driving! I work with some of these folks - trust me, this is a good idea...

Here's an article on the next generation of city criminals. A new alternative school for students who're on long term suspension or expulsion will be opened at the school system's North Ave. headquarters. It's going to be called (drumroll please) the Success Academy. North Branch Prep would probably be a better name, since that's where most of these punks are going to end up. At least it gets them out of schools where the other students aren't all lost causes.

I actually wanted to cheer when I heard the comment about cell phone use by city workers being banned while they're driving. For once I had to fully agree with Sheila Dixon.

Cynic, let me know if you need some assistance with the blog. I promise I'd keep my rants about capital punishment and flogging in the comments section and off of the front page :)

...and finally, to avoid being the subject of a snarky comment, if you're going to Loch Raven Reservoir any time soon, be sure to wear orange. (And if you're planning on going swimming, look out for the Lone Ranger.)

No-longer-alleged rapist Wendell Keys was convicted of first- and second-degree rape and false imprisonment 18 years after the fact.

You guys are so sweet, pitching in like this! I feel like an amish guy who just got his barn raised.

Hmmm... if your barn needs to be raised, does that make me the drunk redneck who plowed through the barn in my '87 F-150?

Seriously, this is awesome. Thanks for putting up the links!

Holy Smokes! I hadn't actually read the original BC post before I commented. Cynic, you're awesome! And Sean, that was some mighty fine snark you were dishing out!

Thank you, thank you. Always glad to help. I'm especially proud of "Stuper Trooper" and the Lone Ranger. Hmmm... there may be a tv show in there...

Let's see if I got this right: Officer Hagee:
~Was working off-duty for a downtown parking garage, drunk, and driving a police department car.
~He drunkenly goes and harasses (tries to bring into?) his girlfriend at home.
~When she calls the police, he radios that he'll handle the call, and called off the on-duty district officers.
~He then gives out a made-up description of a "suspect"--possibly causing innocent men to be stopped.
~And he gave Internal Affairs a bunch of crap about the breath test.

And this guys still on the police force, apparently still working in one of those fancy, schmancy specialized units doing something important. I wonder if the parking garage paid him all his hours scheduled that night, and if he still works for them. I wonder if he still has a "take-home" car, because he's so important. I wonder how many other part-time gigs he works, driving our car, with our gas, possibly often drunk. Buz wonders if he has gotten any alcohol abuse treatment since this last little bit of , um, trouble.

And we wonder why some citizens don't trust or like the Po-leece.

Apparently, he plea bargained to 2 charges of misconduct. They had a weak case?! Sheesh.

Oh, and by the way, is anybody minding the store!? What about the sector sergeant and the shift commander and the officer who's post is is/was? Weren't they at all curious who this strange unit with the strange call sign was handling a call in their district? Were they too busy on a chaotic night in Bmore, and grateful for the "help"? Or what..........Buz is just curious, that's all.
