Peter hermann navigates between Scylla & Charybdis regarding the inability to fully cover all of the criminality in Baltimore (without a 20-page column) and being fair to a city which has some safe, law-abiding activities which merit recognition.

The Mayor criticizes him for discussing the criminality of some of the neighborhoods on the Marathon route.

I'd rather the media proclaimed the criminality of the City and challenged the administration to change that reality, as opposed to the image. Reputation will follow realities, not PR.
