Prevent

Warren Brown said 'Lawyers for Bernstein' will release a list of murders that could have been prevented had mandatory sentences been imposed on repeat violent offenders.

I bet we could've prevented even more murders if we had mandatory death sentences for repeat violent felons.

... if having a firing squad in the middle of town executing the weeks' convicted murderers deterred five murders of innocent people a year, but mistakenly executed two innocent people, which would be the most ethical way to reduce the number of murders of innocent people?

Which is why I said repeat violent felons. Wrongful convictions certainly happen, but have you ever heard of someone being falsely convicted multiple times of violent crimes?
