January 7

The service for Cpl. Courtney Brooks is taking place this morning. Part-time stripper Kerri King still has not been charged in his death, but continues to be held for not showing up at court for an unrelated DUI charge.

A woman was raped in her car near S. Caroline St. and E. Baltimore St. at about 4:00 in the afternoon on New Year's Day, and police have no leads.

The family of Michael Gagnon seems genuinely sorry for the drunken actions of their brother/son.

Maryland's program to prevent aggressive driving has largely failed. Of course, this guy won't be driving like a jackass anymore.

A fire in Dundalk is being investigated as suspicious.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin today in HoCo Circuit Court for the case against Brandon Morris, who is accused of killing prison guard Jeffrey Wroten.

The Guardian Angels are seeking volunteers for their Baltimore patrols.

As ppatin reminds us in the comments, arguments against the lethal injection are being heard by the Supreme Court today.

Ugh, another escaped inmate! Hopefully this guy will also do us the favor of getting himself shot at the end of his escape attempt.
