March 31

I wonder if Mark Castillo's three kids ever got him one of those "#1 Dad" t-shirts for Father's Day. (Also: Sun, WMAR)

Including the Castillo family, there were five murders over the weekend. At about 5:00 yesterday morning, a man was stabbed in the neck in the 1000 block of Billie Holiday Ct. Just after midnight, the soon-to-be-dead body of 19-year-old Javon King was found by a driver in the 5400 block of Nelson Ave. Neighbors heard gunshots earlier, but they were too busy doing stuff to actually call the cops in a reasonable time frame.

Looks like the same people who give out fictitious parking tickets might be going after the career of BPD Sgt. Michael Wingler.

On Friday, a man was chased and beaten on E. Federal St., a woman was robbed of $900 on E. Lombard St., and a photographer was robbed of $19,000 worth of equipment on Maryland Ave.

Yet another case of non-custodial dad killing his children (but not himself of course).
"Mayor Sheila Dixon said this morning. 'We will be asking ourselves why, why, why?'"
Because these guys think that their children and their wives are their property, so it's within their rights.

Did y'all catch this one?:

Burglary // Someone broke into a house in the 1900 block of Sherwood Ave. through the rear door between Friday and Saturday, and stole the front door, valued at $300.

Somebody was shot in the rear at N. Decker and E. Fayette on Saturday early evening. Rumor has it as a non-fatal shooting but the multiple gun shots scared all the neighbors something awful. He hobbled over to N. Potomac, where the police found him.

Re: Mark Castillo
Why did he have to kill them in our city - can be subtract that from our overall murder rate at the end of the year? I suppose, however, that as far as tourism goes, that's about as close to the Baltimore experience as you can get.

Also, why has he still not been charged?

I saw that he made a very-half assed pseudo-suicide attempt. Guess he was too much a wimp to kill himself, so he murdered his kids instead. At least the guy who tossed his kid off the key bridge decided to chug Drano afterwards.

From Zach's website...and just FYI this is not a fund-raiser and I don't believe there is a cover:

We are throwing a kick ass party in Zach's honor this Wednesday, April 2nd at Sonar Lounge in Baltimore (407 E. Saratoga St). 7pm - ??

We are going to celebrate our friend by enjoying everything he loved: Anna, music, and a good drink or micro beer.

We invite all of you who have supported Anna and Zach's family over the last 10 months on this board to come and meet up with us, to dance, to laugh, to live like Zach would have wanted. Please come by to say hello to Anna, even if you've never met either of them.. your well wishes and prayers meant more than you know. We hope to see you there!

We should make it easier for the scum who would kill or maim their families to off themselves.

Let's call it "Lynches for Losers".

I may have to go to that Sonar get together, are any of you going?

By the way, welcome back mjb - we've missed you!

Aww, thanks Cynic!

And "demons" dad gets no points from me for the Drano-- the bridge was right there, he could have just hopped on over (and left his son in the car).

.. stole the front door, har!

I didn't mean to imply anything positive about that guy. I just found
Mark Castillo's pathetic attempt to gain sympathy to be particularly repulsive after what he did.
