The killing of a killer...

A man was stabbed to death Wednesday in city lockup, as he was awaiting trial for the murder of Antron Betts.

In better news, two have been arrested and two more are being sought in the murder of a county man.

Those Canadians sure are crafty, because today a man got 45 years in prison after Canadian police recognized glasses and beer in a child porn video as being from America.

And finally a TTP bloods member accused of stabbing and shooting a witness pled guilty in federal court the other day. But he is not going to be sentenced until April 2010, wtf?

The lawyers for Lee Stephens have subpoenaed every State's Attorney in Maryland to try to prove that MD's death penalty is unconstitutional.

I thought I knew what frivolous BS lawyering was, but this really reaches new heights. Way back in 1983 the Court of Appeals established in Calhoun v. State that different SAs have the right to use different standards when seeking the DP. Besides, Stephens is accused of murdering a CO, even Baltimore City seeks death in those kinds of cases. I understand that even the worst criminals have the right to a good lawyer, but this kind of crap has nothing to do with protecting people's rights or safeguarding the innocent. Monkey wrenches are being thrown into the wheels of the legal system for no other reason than to stall and delay. The lawyers in this case should be disbarred.

Delay in sentencing = opportunity to mitigate by cooperating in ongoing investigations.

That or a prolonged PSI.
