I hope people don't go out on a looting spree being there is a snow storm. The criminals will be out in droves because the police won't be able to get around in the snow.
the criminals can't get around either! Though as Buz sez, their bench is deeper... Isn't it sad that the police ride in the most unseasonable vehicle ever made, the Crown Victoria? 5/6 cars I saw stuck in snow today were American-made sedans!
Buz went out at the height of the storm Saturday night to the Royal Farm Store about 3 blocks or so away from his palatial residence. The walking was tough: icy underneath wherever cars had gone or people had shoveled; where they had not shoveled, snow was up to my knees. However, I was gratified to see two police cars moving easily on patrol, as they both had chains on. We were grateful for the 4 ladies working tirelessly in the store to provide fried chicken and other unhealthy vittles, one of whom told me she had been working for over 14 hours.
Baltimore owes a lot to our sub-shop ladies-- the last of the real living Hons. I love the gals at the Harry Little sub shop on York Rd (over the county line), the youngest looks about 70. One hopes they can afford to retire but are still working out of love of the sub shop lifestyle.
Perhaps Peter or Justin can find out if there's any truth to the 2 Anonymous postings (but maybe they're police officers who are not authorized to speak to the press). However, all of us would like to know!

From credible source inside City law enforcement . . .
When: Saturday, December 19, 2009
26 yr. old victim was raped and almost killed (throat was cut) by person soliciting shoveling work.
Apperently - assailent had shoveled for multiple people on the block of S. Kenwood (block number not confirmed) before the victim.

Is FWD better than RWD in the snow?
Definitely FWD is better, all-wheel drive is even better (but sucks up a ton of gas)
