Shellenberger Seeks Death

How in the world did I miss this story?

The Baltimore County State's Attorney's Office has announced that they will seek the death penalty against the hitman who murdered William Porter and Porter's wife who ordered the hit. The other four suspects in the case won't face the death penalty because only the triggerman and the person who contracted the killing are eligible.

.. it's really easy to miss a lot of stories. It takes a lot of time and patience to sit and read entire papers every day.

The Baltimore Sun didn't even cover this development. I did a Google news search and Explore Baltimore County was the only source that had anything about it. I guess that's what happens when the big local newspaper guts its staff again and again :-/

On a vaguely related note I saw that Steve Bailey is going for a rematch against Scott Shellenberger in the BaltoCo SA's election. Back in '06 I wanted Bailey to win since he'd been a career prosecutor whereas Shellenberger had gone off to work for Peter Angelos. This time around I'm not sure who I support. Baltimore County voters are so lucky that they have two good choices in the election.
