Ding, ding, '09's homicide total passes '08s with the Medical Examiner's decision that Trina Johnson, 27, "whose remains were found Oct. 18, 2008, in a rowhouse in the 1900 block of E. Lanvale St., had been strangled."

Two of the victims killed this past weekend were ID'd as Wayne Ruder, 56, shot at his jewelry store (though nothing was taken) at 6999 Reisterstown Road, and Ashley Harper, 53, shot in the chest in the 700 block of West Lexington.

The rest of the weekend killings were identified, including Kinlaw Jones, 21, shot on 1800 block of E. Pratt St, as well as a man shot earlier this week who died today was ID'd as Harrison Butler, 44 shot on the 700 block of North Linwood St.

Chalk up another murder to the tally, as police classify the death of a 20-month-old child as a homicide.

Terrell Allen, a man who police believe is the leader of a violent drug organization, which has been the cause of several shooitngs in the past year and a half, was given a 4 year federal sentence recently.

Questions have yet to be answered in the shooting of a 15-year-old girl.
