Kerri King indicted!!!

It's not often that info from the State's Attorney's office makes me happy, but this does:
Baltimore, MD – April 9, 2008 – State's Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy announced today that the Baltimore City Grand Jury returned indictments against Kerri J. King, 35, of the 100 block of Danford Drive, Elkton, Maryland on charges of auto manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Court documents allege that on December 31, 2007, Kerri King struck and killed Officer Courtney Brooks of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police Department as he directed holiday traffic at the intersection of Exit 53 on northbound Interstate 95. Ms. King is also charged with driving while impaired and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The maximum penalty for auto manslaughter is 10 years in prison. The maximum penalty for leaving the scene of an accident is also 10 years. An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but an allegation of criminal wrongdoing.

Sme sort of police-involved shooting occured late this evening in the Southwest District. I believe an officer was fired upon.

A second murder conviction in three years. He had been sentenced to seven years. My question: Why was he out ??

Here's the link to my previous post on the shooting.

The sun has an article about the little savages in our schools.

Here's an interesting little fact. In England in the 1700s "strong evidence of malice in a child aged 7–14 years of age" was a capital offense. Maybe Maryland needs a similar law...

"In response to English's complaints, Gen. Bennie E. Williams, chief of staff to schools chief Andres Alonso, agreed a few weeks ago to convene a task force on teacher assaults. Its first meeting was scheduled for yesterday."

Okay, so a conversation that will take months in order to discuss how to reduce beatdowns...

"State Superintendent Nancy S. Grasmick told WBAL Radio that she was "horrified" and said that increased character education, community partnerships and parental responsibility are needed."

Forget about the first two - the parents ought to be beating the shit out of these little hoodlums and putting respect into them. It is not the state's responsibility to be parents for these little thugs (although I'm a big fan of them punishing them far more severely).

Of course we can't expect any less - it isn't like most of the parents in this city wanted their kids or even make a conscious effort to raise them.

Bring back corporal punishment in schools for students who assault teachers. To hell with suspension, what they need is a solid whooping.

Nope. Just kick them out of school permanently, try them as adults, and cancel Mom's eligibility for Section 8, welfare, and food stamps.

How about you eliminate or severely restrict welfare, food stamps & section 8 entirely so that their irresponsible babymommas don't have an incentive to get knocked up all the time.

I think mandatory sterilization until the age of 30 should be a viable option as well.

Nice bunch of people you have hanging around the page. Baltimore is soon to overtake the orifice in which God inserts the final enema.

The Sun seems to be a bit reluctant to post a picture of 'precious' what's up with that? Denying her one last fling with fame before she does her so much deserved time?
