State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy announced that the Baltimore City Grand Jury indicted Mark Castillo, 42, of Rockville, Maryland for three counts of first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death today.
Court documents allege on March 30, 2008, Mark Castillo drowned his three children Anthony Castillo, 6, Austin Castillo, 4, and Athena Castillo, 2, in the bathtub of the Marriott Hotel in downtown Baltimore City.
An arraignment is scheduled for May 19, 2008 before Judge W. Michel Pierson, Room 329 Courthouse East.
The case will be prosecuted by Julie Drake, Chief of the Felony Family Violence Division.

Hopefully this will soon be followed by a filing of a notice of intent to seek the death penalty, although if they planned to do that then they'd probably have a different ASA trying the case.
