Armed robberies appear to be on the increase.

example:

Robbery A gunman entered the Magic Discount Corp. in the 2900 block of Greenmount Ave., about 6 p.m. Saturday, jumped over the counter and forced an employee to give him an undisclosed sum of money from a cash register. The gunman also stole two cell phones.

Just saw this on spotCrime:

Shooting 2XX W. LORRAINE AVE

FYI, that's just south of Johns Hopkins - Homewood Campus, where they're testing that sonar gunshot triangulation technology.

Guess they don't need to simulate any more gunfire for it.

The man who stabbed his wife had just left District Court and stabbed her less than a block away. I have one question: How did he manage to get into the courthouse with a weapon?
