Leading & Bleeding

Does "the media" give residents an outsize impression of the city's crime issues?
The mayor (and the running festival's coordinator) think so.

How could one possibly overexaggerate the crime in this town?? It's high!

Look at the top big cities for crime per-capita in the U.S. Baltimore has lots of crime and lots of criminals.

Do I credit the City with reductions in the numbers? I would. If I believed them.

But, even after an X% drop in fatal shootings,... we're still among those who lead the nation in fatal shootings. That's not good. That cannot be good.

I'll grant kudos when this place is safer than the median city on the FBI UCR list, ok ?

From the looks of things, Peter Hermann might consider giving running, jogging or walking a try.
