3 and 4

the peaceful streak ended with two murders yesterday: a man found shot in a vehicle in the 900 block of North Glover Street, and Derrick Taylor, shot in the back at 3912 Eierman Avenue.

TDR: "Brian Keith Rose, the man accused of killing Warren T. Fleming in an attempted carjacking at the Security Square Mall in 2006, and whose case made national news when partial fingerprint evidence in the case was thrown out by a Baltimore County judge, will plead guilty this afternoon in U.S. District Court."

Pew Research Center studied the Baltimore news "ecosystem"-- among the nonshocking findings, most stories originate from the Sun, and the Sun is covering considerably fewer stories than it did a year ago.

Not that I'm complaining, because people are actually going to prison, but why does it take a federal prosecutor to do the job?

Like, shouldn't the Governor appoint a relief State's Attorney for Baltimore City, to do the work that that office cannot seem to ?

Judge Sounder should have been kicked off of the bench for her asinine decision in the Brian Rose case. I'm also wondering why the US Attorney's Office is now allowing him to plead out? If he gets anything other than a life sentence I will not be amused.

More transparency from our City government.

I think this new iphone app is a hoot.

Jessica Kartalija reports a Maryland man has created an iPhone application designed to keep you safe.

I'll give any iphone geek $5 to go to the corner of Bradford and Federal Street at 3AM with their iphone and work their new spotcrime app to find out about recent crimes in the area. Now do they feel safer?

The best "apps" to keep yourself safe are made by Cold and Smith & Wesson, not Apple.
