not showing up this morning was apparently no coincidence: Jill Carter, D-41, is apparently holding up the same-sex marriage bill to draw attention to the horribly misguided "equal time" child custody bill.

Sue J said...: This stunt of hers is going to come back to haunt her next election. She's claiming civil marriage has been "fast-tracked"? That comes to news to all who have been fighting for years to get this Bill to this point.

Maurice Bradbury said...: It's not about treating men equally-- the law already states that judges can't favor either parent based on gender. HB 1132 mandates joint physical custody, which means children spend equal time with both parents. I lived through an attempt at that as a kid, two weeks with one parent and then two weeks with the other.
