Just thought I'd provoke some commentary:

I see nothing wrong with this, except that I'm not clear why one would restrict it to immigrants. And what the heck is wrong with stigmatizing criminality? I mean, it is WRONG, isn't it?

If you engage in serious criminal acts (other than de minimis), why should your citizenship not be forfeit?

In fact, I'd rather like to see municipalities (or states) reinstitute the notion of exiling outlaws.
