Erik Stoddard, charged with second-degree murder, pled not guilty at an arraignment this morning. His trial date was scheduled for August 10, 2006. On December 8, 2005 the Maryland Court of Appeals vacated Stoddard's second-degree murder conviction, citing evidentiary issues regarding the testimony of a three-year-old witness. A Baltimore City jury convicted Stoddard March 13, 2003 of second-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death for the death of Calen Faith Dirubbo, 3. Court documents allege that on June 15, 2002 Dirubbo was pronounced dead at her home, where she lived with her mother and Stoddard. Dirubbo died as a result of multiple beatings over a period of at least a month; the fatal blow, which severed her bowel, occurred June 15, 2002.

CBS National News reported that more than 90 percent of witnesses in Baltimore murder cases face intimidation. (Yet judges give career criminals and intimidators such as Clyde Meadows probation.)

He is innocent. "Dave" has posted a comment on a different page, everything he said is completely accurate. Ill leave more comments later, but believe me, ive read over 100 judges in the united states, they all say that he was wrongfully convicted and they dont understand why hes in jail and nick dieter hasnt been charged with child-neglect. Ill see you all from the prosecuting side in the 3rd trial.
