November 27 evening

Correction: the person who told us about the 6th season was full of it! Sorry! Number five is the end!

The Baltimore City Grand Jury indicted Stephens Zukael, 19, for first-degree murder, deadly weapon, reckless endangerment and first-degree arson in connection with the beating death of Marcus Rogers. Court documents allege Zukael was last seen with the victim on surveillance camera prior to his death. An arraignment is scheduled December 20, before Judge John P. Miller, 428 Mitchell Courthouse. Assistant State's Attorney Dianna Smith will prosecute this case.

Just when we, well I thought the bar robberies were over, St Mary's liquor store on East 25th, about 4 doors down from the bar i work a, was robbed @7pm Monday vening. They have been robbed 2 times that i know of this year.

See what happens when you dont live in the "benefits district" ?

I have a feeling it's probably one of our customers and that's why we have been spared so far

The Wire was renewed for a fifth season several months ago.

If you're talking about the 'vous it will only be a matter of time before someone uses that bar as their personal ATM. It's been done before.

St. Mary's IS inside the Charles Village Benefits District. Not that they do anything, mind you.

I'm talking about the sixth season...
Don't get us started on the benefits district!
Nothing like having your windows broken once a week, and paying extra taxes for it!

but david simon has repeatedly stated before that he conceived the wire as a five season story arc and was going to quit after the fifth season, or if it hadn't been renewed for a fourth and fifth seasons, he would have written a book or two to finish off everything he had planned up through the fifth season. also, why would hbo greenlight a sixth season when the fifth season hasn't even begun production yet, AND from what i understand they're not making any money off it (besides dvd sales of past seasons) due not only to not enough people watching it, but also due to the entire fifth season leaking all over the internet like a motherfucker before it ever even premiered on hbo.

so confused!

A sixth season of The Wire? Holy crap, where did you hear this? On the show's website there's an interview with David Simon where he clearly says that he wouldn't do a sixth season even if HBO asked him to.

I can't say where.. an 'industry insider,' let's say... and I sure don't know why, but that's the word that I heard...
Also, John Waters is shooting a new movie about the Christmas-obsessed residents of 34th street.

Re: The Wire.

Good I like that show.

I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD so I can watch with the subtitles on. I can't understand what anybody is saying!

I do like it, mostly because of Michael K. Williams, but on the other hand it's kind of the SOS: it seems 'challenging' but he metaplot is still the same message of every cop/law/doctor show: that for the most part the people in charge of your safety really care.

Anyhoo, yeah, rumors can be wrong, and David Simon could say no, but what I hear is that HBO wants to do it.

Shouldn't they do a fifth first?

Yes The Vous has been robbed before but it's been years, one time a attempted robber was actually thron down the steps, although that time no gun was involved.

The Vous is the type of place where everyone knows everyone , and I think this robber or robbers fears recognition.
