June 4

At a hearing today, Judge John C. Themelis sentenced Simmeon Anderson, 31, of the 2800 block of Hollins Ferry Road, to a total of 50 years in prison: 25 years for first-degree assault, 20 for use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence and five without parole for being a felon in possession of a handgun. Judge Themelis also sentenced Anderson to a concurrent six-year prison term for solicitation to commit murder. On March 23, 2007 a Baltimore City jury convicted Anderson of two counts of first degree assault, two counts of use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, two counts of reckless endangerment and one count each of felon in possession of a handgun and wear/carry/transport a handgun. Anderson pled guilty March 26, 2007 to solicitation to commit murder. On September 12, 2000 Anderson pulled Derrick and his aunt Lisa Kittrell out of a vehicle in the 1600 block of Olmstead Street and shot Derrick Kittrell, Lisa Kittrell, was not harmed. This case was tried once before, in 2004, and a mistrial was declared. It has been postponed 27 times until last March’s trial and was the oldest pending trial in Baltimore Circuit Court.

The BCGJ indicted Kennis Lambert, 17, of the 6200 block of Alumure Way for first-degree murder, court documents allege on April 29, 2007 Lambert was identified as the person responsible for a shooting incident in the 6200 block of Elliott Street. Azerwoine Walker, 30, was found suffering from a gunshot wound and transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital, he died later the same day of his injuries [#88]. An arraignment is scheduled for July 2, 2007 before Judge Glynn.

Curtis Alexander, 28, was found shot in the 1900 block of W. Lanvale St. about 10 a.m. Sunday by a Western District police officer responding to a report of shots fired.

Judge John M. Glynn sentenced Dale Fauntleroy, 22, of the 2500 block of Woodbrook Ave. to 35 years in prison, 20 years for conspiracy to commit robbery and a consecutive 15 years in prison for armed robbery. A Baltimore City jury convicted Fauntleroy February 1, 2007 of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon. Judge Glynn gave him the maximum possible prison term today. On January 9, 2006 a City jury acquitted Fauntleroy of armed robbery and handgun counts and hung on the remaining counts that prosecutors retried in February. On October 29, 2004 Fauntleroy attempted to rob an off-duty Mass Transit Police Officer with an unknown caliber handgun while they were both inside a Chinese Food Carry-Out in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Ave. Police shot Fauntleroy twice as he fled the robbery scene.

buttocks"A police search of a common hiding place for drugs -- between the cheeks of the buttocks -- needs to be done as privately as possible to be considered legal, even if a suspect is wearing very low-hanging pants, said the CSA in a ruling that invalidated a search of a Fallston man "done in the presence of his friends at a deserted car wash."

Speaking of ... things transportational, MO'M Marcus L. Brown, formerly Hamm's #2, says he's pumped to patrol 83, as commanded by his arm patch.
keith robinson
Ew, County police arrested the already-registered-sex-offender at right for raping a 12-year-old on a camping trip near Bengie's Drive-In.

Thanks to Galt for posting the latest FBI numbers. It's official, our population went down ... but murders and car thefts went up!

As much as I like to acknowledge Mayor Dixon for finally doing something in asking the MdTA police to assist Baltimore, I don't believe the giving up 2 miles of partitioned 295 is going to help very much, if at all. I don't ever remember seeing any BPD patroling it and I would like to know how many man-hours it's going to free up.

Now, if Dixon can get the MdTA PD to patrol the light rail and the inner harbor (instead of just the trade center), than I would say something was being done. The only thing patroling Baltimore's portion of 295 is going to do and ruin some the MdTA police car's suspension.

I apologize for nitpicking, but the MTA and MdTA are two different organizations. It would be the MdTA (Maryland Transportation Authority) not the MTA (Mass Transit Administration) that would assume responsibility for patrolling 295 inside the city.

Yeah, I hardly ever see the Baltimore PD on either 295 or the JFX, so I doubt that having the MdTA or the State Police take over those two roads will free up a lot of manpower. Every little bit helps, but it's a drop in the bucket.

I see cops on 295 in the city almost every afternoon on my way home, of course it is AA County bringing thugs back to the city.

They're not thugs, their Mayor Dixon's constituents.

Okay, let me get this straight.

1. 2 years ago Robinson was convicted of 3 degree Sexual Offense (the victim 13) and could have gotten up to 10 years in prison, but for some reason is not currently in the big house.

2. Up until recently, he was staying with some people who had a 12 year old girl with them.

3. In April, asked to take their 12 year old girl camping, which the guardians didn't seem to have any issue with.

Hmmmmmm, as a father, I can't understand how Robinson was allowed to move on to step 2 following step 1.

i don't think the police really patrol those two roads, but they do respond to accidents on them. so bringing state police in for that enables the city cops to keep doing whatever they were doing instead of going to the highway when there's an incident. i guess.

I'm reposting the link to the story on Legg Mason's corporate welfare, because it fits back into the municipal incompetence here in Kakistopolis.

After taking office, Mde. Mayor announced that she hoped to create more financial services operations incentive deals like those in the past with Legg Mason and JP Morgan/Chase, which were such a coup for the City.

Then a few weeks later JP Morgan/Chase announced 'thanks for the free money. We're now closing and relocationg out of Baltimore, but we'll enjoy spending your money in some other city, suckers.'

Yeah, that's one great economic development strategy ya got there, lady.

That girl's parents should be charged with criminal neglect for letting her go camping with a known pervert.

Does this woman do anything other than associate herself with work being done by others ?

Mayor Dixon says she creating a plan "... to make summer fun and safe for families and children."

Summer starts in 2 weeks, it better be one hell of a plan!

John Galt said...

Oh, I'm sure it is.

10 committees, 56 subcommittees, a coupla select comittees, focus groups and task forces galore.

Your tax dollars at work.

John Galt said...

Oh,.. you didn't mean as in,... achieving a tangible result,... now did you ??

That kinda plan is sorta against union rules at City Hall.

Ooh boy you have to get yourself on a juicy case so you can tell us about it after!

I'll be sure to let you know what happens, although if it's anything like the last time I had jury duty I'll just be sitting around all day.
