The First (and Maybe Only) - Ever Baltimore Crime "Happy" Hour!

Chuck's retiring and we're considering some site changes. Let's meet, drink and celebrate his great contributions to the local snark and outrage quotient!

Thursday July 10 (yes THIS Thursday), 6 p.m. @ Club Charles

It would be a crime to miss it! Har!

I don't much like rapists.

P, thanks to the generous buy-out package being offered to staffers at Baltimore Crime, I'm pursuing my dream of spending more time sitting on my stoop and watching hookers buy crack from teenage boys on bicycles.

(Actually, I'm changing jobs and won't have time to document my daily snark and outrage. Don't tell MJB, though, because I want the severance package.)

Of course, I know how you bloggers are. Once a blogger, always a blogger. I'll get out, and you'll pull me back in. Give me another 10 years, and I'll be sitting in some shitty rec center in CHUM with stubs where my index fingers used to be, wearing a Google do-rag and begging kids not to go into a life of blogging.

Actually, the Rec Center is about the only decent thing in CHuM.

Chuck you will be missed. Does this mean that you will be giving up your other Blog? For whatever reason When ever I read it it reminds me of "A House is not a Home" by Polly Adler.

Can I have Chuck's corner office and fax machine? I've always wanted a fax machine...

I'd so be there if ...

a.) I had a car
b.) I didn't have a happy hour that night in stumbling distance of my apartment!

Doh. Stupid studying for boards. Let it be known that med students like happy hours.

Um and randomly - is there anyone looking to adopt a cat? I have a wonderfully sweet stray I am trying to place. He did not even scratch or bite me when I gave him a BATH, which is more than I can say for the so-called "domesticated housecats" I actually own.

Goshdang, Joe, that's one of the nicest compliments I've gotten on the other blog, whether you meant it that way or not! I'll still be hammering away on that one, primarily because it's much more conducive to 1am posts than BC is. Besides, why keep writing for the blog that people actually read, when I can invest my energy in the one that gets 10 hits per day?

Carol, rumor has it that MJB is laying off the fax machine and outsourcing its work to India. She's ruthless like that.

Whoever makes it, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you in person. I've made up faces to go with each of you, so it'll be fun to see who really does look like Alfred E. Newman.

MJB cheats at scrabble, too. Funny how I never seem to get any vowels...

So yeah I can see her cracking the whip on the poor old fax machine.

Nice segue, I thought.

Looking forward to it!

OMG!! I so do not cheat at Scrabble! I don't even use the dictionary... unlike certain people I could name but won't!

Chuck's getting his full salary for five years, I'll have you know, and keeping his health plan and country club membership.
