The Baltimore police official in charge of leading internal disciplinary proceedings was fired Tuesday after the agency discovered apparent fabrications or inconsistencies in documents used to charge officers, according to the city police union.

Just to be clear, the groups that weren't cut from the budget (MDLC, Legal Aid, MLSC) are all groups that provide and coordinate free or low-cost legal assistance to the needy. And we're not talking about criminal defense here. So these lawyers make far, far less money.
