Fuck. Just five minutes ago I read this account (obv. unverified) posted on the Baltimore city-data forum:

"I want to warn anyone unknowing enough to visit or move there. There have been a slew of drug induced rapes happening all over Baltimore city night clubs. I was drugged, carried out & sexually assaulted after visiting an after hours club in baltimore. I went to the hospital, did a rape kit , gave Dna & statements. The states attorney is refusing to prosecute him.
I know u think it can't happen to you- I am very careful with my drinks. I believe the bartender may have had something to do with it. There is a severe injustice going on in Baltimore city. They recently let a man get away with raping a woman at gunpoint in an alley. The FBI has initiated an investigation into the State 's Attorney's office. Google rape injustice Baltimore & u will see. The night I reported my assault a young female bartender was drugged on her job & woke up nude on a lawn. The police & judicial system does not care about women.
Baltimore is a cesspool full of disease & corrupt powers & they do not care about you. Maryland's laws are so screwed up that if I had shot my rapist they would have probably arrestedME! I hate Md- I am done with this horrible place! Be warned- The city is full of demons & not even safe to visit. And whatever you do- never talk to or get your drink near Cuban or black men in Bmore- they are rape drug using trash!"

If this club is so dangerous and she's posting anonymously why not name the club? No doubt that Baltimore has a sordid history of not prosecuting rapes, but pretty sure this post is a fake. (Cuban men in Baltimore?)

yeah, I'm not sure about that last comment, but I'll withhold judgement on whether the account is true or not. Not sure I would want to name the club unless I really was never coming back to Baltimore... what if they took her wallet/ID? And why post a fake story, just to shit on B-more?

This sounds just like the e-mails I get from time to time from racist groups about all the black-perpetrated crime "the liberal media won't tell you about." Plus note the not-so-subtle pro-gun touch in there: "Maryland's laws are so screwed up that if I had shot my rapist they would have probably arrestedME!" ... referring to large groups of people as "trash" is also a right-wing calling card. "She" doesn't describe the perp, won't name the place it happened, doesn't even name the neighborhood said club is in (and who of any gender goes to an after-hours club by themselves, what fun is that?) Also note this is "miaskies" one & only post.

If this had happened to an actual person, they'd be naming the club, the date, being as specific as possible to warn others and probably filing a civil lawsuit against the club as well. Given that Cubans = .08% of the Baltimore city population, I will say with 99.02% confidence that this is fakety fake fake-- even go sofarastosay a post paid by a right-wing PAC out of Florida (Cubans?!).

I see your points, but have any of you skeptics had the misfortune of penning an email or online comment after having been sexually assaulted?

My guess is that tact and decorum would be the least of the author's concerns.
