Mostly theft in the Northern District this week. The Messenger's latest Crime Log is out.

I love your pillory, galt. Thanks fo rthe messenger link... that's too bad about the clerk at the 41st st. RoFo-- I went there to get gas the other day and I hear this baby crying, and it was coming from behind the counter-- the cashier brought her baby to work and it was in a car seat on the floor. I tell you this town needs three things to be perfect:
1. enough cops
2. public transportation that works and
3. CHILD CARE!

and HoCo Joe, yeah you're safe, but aren't you bored? When you go out to eat you have to drive an hour or it's Applebee's, you have to do all your people-watching at the Wal-Mart and the only independent films are at the Pack Shack.
Kids should be safe, but shouldn't they also have the benefits of cultural and economic diversity?

Speaking of, I'm off to the farmer's market. I ♥ city living!

hocojoe,

You can do those things now? What's keeping you??

The park and lexington market are relatively safe in the daytime, just use a little discretion. There are many families and young people in the park every day. On sunday afternoons the pagoda is open and has great views of the city.

The robberies, usually, are done at night. The MO is for the robbers to lay low in the darkness of the park and the swoop down on people as they get in and out of their cars.

As for pizza, there are a number of pizza places that fit the bill you describe.

Ahem. Ahem!

Baltimore pizza ?

Okay, so I'm a snob as well as a constant complainer.

Yes, Baltimore Pizza:

* Tutti Gusti, canton-highlandtown area, Foster ave I think. A big Italian man makes the pizza. Pretty good neighborhood place.

* Matthew's ,Highlantown on eastern ave. Try the crab pizza. Smallish but very tasty and unique pizzas.

* joe^2, North ave at Howard. Excellent thin crust. The bar has a fine czech beer I haven't seen in the USA anywhere else: radegast.

* Sarah's on Broadway a little north of fleet. Middle-eastern fare + pizza. The falafel is excellent.

There are some more, but these stand out in my mind.

King's on 36th street -- a little hint of cumin in the sauce, and a free side of garlic-butter grease. I like it with feta and pineapple. Saturated fat STASH HOUSE!

STASH HOUSE man,

How do you know?
