Things were better in the olden days.

Why can't we fill the whole big area in front of city hall with pillories, and hold people in them for three-hour stints for all of the "abated by arrest" crimes?
Why did we ever get rid of the pillory? Anyone? Anyone?

Something the Federalists said about 'cruel and unusual', but then again, doesn't that phrase pretty well describe the 'Baltimore experience'?

Personally, I consider unjust imprisonment pretty cruel & unusual. Well, ok, around here, maybe cruel & usual.
