A woman in her 50's was found beaten to death in the 4000 block of Fifth St. in Brooklyn, South Baltimore.

I don't understand why the let Alexander Watson plead guilty, since he was already serving a life sentence. It's not like they risked seeing him go free if they took the case to trial in order to get a death sentence but then didn't get a guilty verdict.
