May 16

Damn, last night was a bloody night. First, a guy got shot somewhere on E. North Ave. and is in critical condition, then four guys got shot somewhere else on E. North Ave. and one of them died, then two guys got shot in the legs in Park Heights, then one guy got shot in West Baltimore and died.

The cops tried to serve a warrant to a Lansdowne man, but ended up serving him a belly full of death.

Lewin Powell apparently didn't try to hide the fact that he killed his mother.

Perv du jour Richard David Morris is looking at a few decades of being the prey instead of the predator.

Lots of stolen clothing in the Blotter, including one guy who gave up his scarf at gunpoint.

They're taking down the blue light cameras.

Another story on the asshole dealers who are stashing drugs at St. Frances Academy. One student said, "This is our neighborhood, and we don’t want drugs in it."

Somebody's dealing asshole drugs?

So aren't you guys happy about the gays in CA?

MD missed the boat. We're going to have married gay citizens amongst us anyway-- unless they move to a friendlier state-- and our courts will still have to grant divorces, award child custody cases, and so on.
We have the worst of both worlds here in MD-- it's economically liberal and socially conservative.

Shame on you, CSA, ya sissyfags! You could have grown a pair and gone down on the good side of history, but it's too late now!

I wouldn't call Maryland socially conservative. Few states protect the right to choose as strongly as MD does. Also, it's not like the Court of Appeals said that gay marriage is a bad thing, they simply said that the state constitution doesn't give gays the right to get married. This is an issue that the legislature should deal with, not the courts, but the General Assembly is too busy raising our taxes and declaring official state cakes.

Also, by "shame on you CSA" I assume you're referring to the Court of Special Appeals? It was the Court of Appeals, not the Court of Special Appeals that made the gay marriage decision in Maryland.

I'm bummed about the blue-light cameras. I always thought they looked so...festive, especially at night...twinkling away...

I know Lewin Powell. He's a coworker of mine. I just heard about this today. Needless to say, I'm shocked. He was a nice, quiet guy. It goes to show you how people can just snap sometimes.
